Qualifications for
Bachelor of Nursing Science (NSC)
1. Eligibility:
- 1) Graduated from or studying in M.6 in Thailand secondary education system Except Native Thai or
- 2) Graduated from an international school in Thailand with high school certificate or equivalent or
- 3) Graduated from an overseas institution/have certificated in the list of secondary education equivalency system in Annex 1 Except 5. Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) and 7. Other Vocational School diploma.
** Native Thais who graduated from or studying in M.6 in Thailand secondary education system are not eligible for NSC**
2. Academic:
- 2.1 Applicants who are studying in or have graduated from the Thai educational system (only for those who are studying in or have graduated from an international program), are required to have the latest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), 5 semesters for those who are studying and 6 semesters for those who already graduated, of overall grade minimum of 3.00 and must have Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in each subject.
- 2.2 Applicants who submit a Standard Equivalency Certification must have Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in their transcript or listed in a standardized test (e.g. AP exam scores).
- 2.3 Applicants who apply for NSC must submit a Health certificate confirming that he/she is in good health, with no visual problems including severe colour blindness. Also applicants must self-certify in their online application that he/she does not have other illnesses, symptoms, or disabilities which would be an obstacle to their study. Once applicants have been accepted into the program, there will be a complete health checkup according to the item below; applicants will be disqualified if they do not meet any of the health requirements.
Note: Additional health qualifications for NSC, applicants must be in good health, with no illnesses, symptoms, or disabilities which would be an obstacle to their studies. Applicants with the following illnesses, symptoms, or disabilities are ineligible for admission:
- • Any disability which is an obstacle to study.
- • Severe psychiatric problems including psychotic disorders, autistic spectrum, mood disorders, severe neurotic disorders, personality disorders such as antisocial personality disorders or borderline personality disorders, or other psychiatric problems which are obstacles to study, practice, and work as a professional nurse.
- • Any contagious disease in the transmission phase which can be a danger to yourself, patients, or cause permanent disability which in turn will be an obstacle to study, practice, and work as a professional nurse.
- • Non-communicable diseases or disorders which are an obstacle to study including:

1) Uncontrolled epilepsy.
2) Severe heart disease which is an obstacle to study, practice, and work as a professional nurse.
3) Severe hypertension with permanent complications to any organ.
4) Chronic kidney disease.
5) Substance use disorder.
6) Visual problems including severe color blindness, or having visual acuity in your good eye of less than 6/12 or 20/40 after correction.
7) Sensory neural hearing loss of a hearing threshold above 40 dB at 500-2,000 Hz.
8) Other diseases or disabilities in which the physical examination committee determines as an obstacle to study. The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing may request an expert to help conduct further assessment.
3. Admission Track
There are 2 admission tracks available for applicants;
Apply through REGULAR TRACK: (Online Written Examination and Online Interview)
(For applicants who do not have either 1. Standard English Proficiency Test or 2. Standard subject test)- o There is no specialized exam for NSC.
- o Non-Native English Speakers who do not have required standard English proficiency test must take the CMU English placement test.
Apply through SPECIAL TRACK: (Online Interview only)
(For applicants who have both 1. Standard English Proficiency Test and 2. Standard subject test)- o Do not require to submit Standard subject test.
English Proficiency Qualification
Bachelor of Nursing Science (NSC)
- 1) Applicants who are Native English Speakers and from a country where English is an official language are exempted from the English Proficiency requirement.
- 2) Applicants who are Non-Native English Speakers or from a country where English is not an official language must submit one of the following Standard English Proficiency Test with a minimum score of:
- o IELTS minimum band score of 5.5 or
- o TOEFL minimum score of 525 PBT or 196 CBT or 70 IBT or
- o TOEFL ITP Test with a minimum score of 525 PBT from institute/ center accredited by the Institute of International Education (IIE)
Note for REGULAR TRACK:
Applicants who do not have one of the Standard English Proficiency Test indicated above MUST take the CMU-English Placement Test. The test will be held on the same day as the examination for specialized subjects. Test fees must be paid with the application fee.Note for SPECIAL TRACK:
Applicant MUST have one of the Standard English Proficiency Test indicated above. The English test score is valid within 2 years after test date until the date of your submission.Download PDF File
