Qualifications for
Bachelor of Science in Digital Innovation (DIN)
1. Eligibility:
Graduated from or studying in the final term of Matthayom Suksa 6 (M.6) or its equivalent or higher under the following conditions,
- 1. For students who are currently enrolled or have graduated from an institution in Thailand
- * Graduated from or currently enrolled in the final term of Matthayom Suksa 6 (M.6) or its equivalent in Thailand secondary education system or
- * Graduated from or currently enrolled in the final year of secondary school (grade 12 in the US system or year 13 in the British system) in an international school in Thailand.
- 2. For students who are currently enrolled or have graduated from overseas or GED credential holders, please check the list of secondary education equivalency system in Annex 1
Remarks:
- 1. Please ensure that you meet the additional academic requirements of the applied program in Annex 2
- 2. Those who are “currently enrolled" should ensure that you provide the official transcript and certificate on the day of new student registration. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
2. Academic:
- 2.1 Applicants who are studying in or have graduated from the Thai educational system, there is No minimum required on overall grade of Cumulative Grade Point Average(CGPA).
- 2.2 Applicants may submit a personal portfolio (no more than 2 pages A4 size in PDF format). The personal portfolio shall include, either of these, among others:
- 1) a statement of purpose that states interests in the program and intentions or plans for the future (no more than 2 pages A4 size in PDF format).
- 2) an applicant’s profile, awards, or activities in academic or other relevant fields that he/she has got or experienced or online start-up/online business experience or project in a high school level;
- 3) a certified Grade C (at least) for those who took the Advanced Placement Program (AP) with International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI).
3. Admission Track
There are 2 admission tracks available for applicants;
Apply through REGULAR TRACK: (Online Written Examination and Online Interview)
(For applicants who do not have either 1. Standard English Proficiency Test or 2. Standard subject test)- o Applicants must take subject tests (CMU exam) in Statistics.
- o Non-Native English Speakers who do not have required standard English proficiency test must take the CMU English placement test.
Apply through SPECIAL TRACK: (Online Interview only)
(For applicants who have both 1. Standard English Proficiency Test and 2. Standard subject test)Applicants must submit Standard English Proficiency Test and standardized examinations of specialized subjects as follows:
- o New SAT (Mathematics and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing or
- o Score(s) from any standardized examinations in Mathematics or Statistics or Calculus (e.g. AP exam scores).
English Proficiency Qualification
Bachelor of Science in Digital Innovation (DIN)
- 1) Applicants who are Native English Speakers and from a country where English is an official language are exempted from the English Proficiency requirement.
- 2) Applicants who are Non-Native English Speakers or from a country where English is not an official language must submit one of the following Standard English Proficiency Test with a minimum score of:
- o IELTS minimum band score of 4.5 or
- o IELTS indicator minimum band score of 4.5 or
- o TOEFL minimum score of 475 PBT or 120 CBT or 52 IBT or
- o TOEFL ITP Test with a minimum score of 475 PBT from institute/ center accredited by the Institute of International Education (IIE) or
- o TOEIC minimum score of 500 or
- o New SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) minimum score of 270.
- 3) Applicants who are Non-Native English Speakers and do not have the result from the Standard English Language Certifications listed in 2) above, may use other results from the following accredited English proficiency tests: CMU-eTEGs 50 or above; CU TEP 60 or above; TU GET (PBT) 500 or above and (CBT) 60 or Duolingo (DET) 70 or above.
- 4) Applicants who are Non-Native English Speakers and have graduated from an international high school or have graduated from a high school in a country where English is an official language and English is the means of instruction are exempted from the English Proficiency requirement, do not need to submit any Standard English Proficiency Test
Note for REGULAR TRACK:
- 1. Applicants who do not have one of the Standard English Proficiency Test indicated above MUST take the CMU-English Placement Test. The test will be held on the same day as the examination for specialized subjects. Test fees must be paid with the application fee.
- 2. DIN applicants whose English scores are within specified ranges (IELTS 4.5-5.0 or TOEFL PBT/ITP 475-546 or TOEFL CBT 120-179 or TOEFL IBT 52-77 or TOEIC 500-599 or SAT EBRW 270-399) shall enroll a Pre-sessional English course held by International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University in April – May for the round1. As for the for round2 and round3, the Pre-sessional English course will be conducted during their studying schedule in June (the first semester of 2022 academic year) (Remark: The Pre-sessional English schedule may be subject to change).
Note for SPECIAL TRACK:
Applicant MUST have one of the Standard English Proficiency Test indicated above. The English test score is valid within 2 years after test date until the date of your submission.Download PDF File
